Form setters layout, measure and cut materials to build wooden forms for pouring cement to construct foundations, sidewalks, driveways and other concrete structures. They work with blueprints and building codes to plan and build forms in place, or install prefabricated forms according to specifications.
Form setters typically:
- determine the type and size of forms needed for a job based on blueprints
- measure, cut and nail lumber to build forms
- anchor and brace forms and inserts spreaders and tie rods to maintain the position and dimensions of the finished concrete
Form setters are employed on residential, commercial, industrial and civil engineering projects.
