Cement masons direct concrete pouring and finish the poured surfaces. They also apply waterproofing and repair, restore or replace worn or damaged concrete.
Cement masons typically:
- check cement forms and reinforcing elements
- direct concrete placement
- compact and level concrete and create finishes
- install fixtures such as anchor bolts, steel plates and door sills
- apply curing and surface treatments
- maintain documentation such as time sheets and work orders
- communicate with customers, co-workers, supervisors and sub-trades personnel

- Operative Plasterers’ and Cement Masons’ International Association of the United States and Canada (OPCMIA)
