Cement masons direct concrete pouring and finish the poured surfaces. They also apply waterproofing and repair, restore or replace worn or damaged concrete.

Cement masons typically:

  • check cement forms and reinforcing elements
  • direct concrete placement
  • compact and level concrete and create finishes
  • install fixtures such as anchor bolts, steel plates and door sills
  • apply curing and surface treatments
  • maintain documentation such as time sheets and work orders
  • communicate with customers, co-workers, supervisors and sub-trades personnel
